Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the “sacraments of Christian initiation, whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1285)
Sacramental Programs for First Communion and Confirmation are two year programs. Any child wishing to receive these sacraments must be enrolled in a Catholic School or Religious Education Parish Program for two consecutive years prior to receiving the sacrament. This preparation time allows the child and parent to become more fully aware of the significance of the sacrament. The parents of the child must be active in the faith, and regular attendance of Sunday Liturgy is necessary for both students and parents.
